Catching up!

Hey everyone!! Been a little behind lately. The only reason I have stopped now to post is because I hurt my back & cannot do anything but sit & lay on the couch. For those of you who know me, know that sitting & laying on the couch are not in my vocabulary. This is really killing not to be able to do anything, but God is teaching me to REST & BE STILL!! I hate that this had to to happen to WAKE ME UP!! Enough about this...let's get to the good stuff!!

We went to the beach for our anniversary at the end of March! We celebrated 7 wonderful years of marriage. We did have the kids, but had a very good time. Thank you Aunt Sara for letting us stay at SaSa's white house. The boys had the best time in the water this year. Of course, it was freezing, but they didn't care at all!! We ate out for lunch 2 days b/c it was very cold on the beach & lunch is less crowded with kids. We ate at our favorites...The Back Porch & The Crab Trap & even managed to get a few doughnuts from the Dount Hole!!

After getting back home from the beach, I decided I was SICK of buying diapers. They are WAY too expensive, so I decided to begin the Potty Train (that is the name of a book). All day on Wednesday, we STAYED in the bathroom. It was a dark, rainy day, & I thought I would LOSE my mind. Thursday was a great day with NO accidents. We even venture out to Chick Fil A that night, & they did great. We did have a poo poo issue though...they ONLY wanted to go in a diaper. SO, The spider man on a 4-wheeler I bought them went in the bathroom as an incentive to GO on the POTTY!! Well, on Monday Mason did that afternoon & it was a HUGE celebration!!! But, I wasn't prepare for the drama it would be to Caleb who still only wanted to use a diaper. It fueled his fire though & 2 days later on Wed he went & it has been down hill ever since. It really wasn't as bad as I thought. I was determined to do them BOTH at the same time & my motto was "that which doesn't kill you only makes you stronger." Can I get an AMEN!!!

On Saturday March 28, we venture to Calera, AL to see Thomas the Train. This was the first LONG outing since starting the potty training thing. I was VERY worried we would have to stop 100 times, but they did good. This was a fun & beautiful day. We got to feed some animals at the petting zoo, rode the train, jumped in the bouncer, & even got a tattoo of Percy & a balloon fishing pole with a worm. They boys were worn out & didn't even stay awake to the interstate (like 30 sec away). In fact, we were all tired!!

The first week in April, the boys came down with what I thought was the flu, but turns out it was a sinus infection. They can go six weeks without being sick, but come to a major holiday or event, & they are getting sick. They were pretty pitiful little boys. It was kinda nice for me because at least it gave me some time to finish sewing their Easter outfits.

The Saturday before Easter we went to Pop & Tee's house for egg dying. The boys had the best time doing this since it was their first time (we had egg allergies up til now). They also enjoyed the trampoline & the basketball goal Pop rigged up in there. After visiting there, it was off to Braggs, AL to an Easter egg hunt. We had to go defend our title of finding the GOLD EGG. Well, NO gold egg, but a TON of sugar. It was a lot of fun. Easter Sunday, we awoke to see what the Easter left. Of course, it was a TON of pictures before leaving for church. It is so great to know we serve a RISEN SAVIOR!!! That is the best part to me.

Now for the sad part of my post. We went to Roanoke,AL on the 13th of April to see my grandmother, Ginny. This was my grandfather, Bobby's, birthday. He died last year 5 days after his birthday, so we went to cheer her up. She was glad to see us, but she really didn't look like she felt well. We did get to have a good visit with her, but she just wasn't herself. On last Monday(April 20), my aunt took her to the ER where she was dehydrated & diagnosed with Liver Cancer. She is 67 years old & had been in good health up to this point. She is very active like me, & she always up doing something. This has completely devastated me. I have learned so much from her in my 30 years here. She is doing good & going to see an oncologist this Thurs (April 30). I will keep you all posted on that!! Please say a prayer for her & our family!

Well, I think this about wraps up a month. I am not going to let this happen again. I will keep on on things now that I have caught up. I hope you all are doing good!!
