In Memory

I really hate to post such bad news on our blog, but you have to take the good with the bad. My mom's second father, Bobby Longshore, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2008. He & my grandmother married 20 years ago this March. So, I have know him most of my life. He welcomed our family with open arms from day one. We will miss him dearly!!! He had been diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis around March 8th or 9th of this year. The doctors weren't sure why he got it or even how to treat it, but had given him 2 years to live. So, to say that he only lasted 6 weeks was & is shocking to the family. We went to see him last weekend for his birthday, & he looked okay despite dealing with Gout in both feet. OUCH!!! My grandmother took him to the hospital Wed. night, & he only got worse after that. We got to the hospital about 1 hour before he died. After seeing him in the condition he was in, I know for sure he is in a MUCH BETTER PLACE today. No more suffering, coughing, or struggling to breathe. He is hopping, skipping, & jumping on the streets of gold. I am sure he is riding on a John Deere tractor as well. Please be in prayer for the family as well as my grandmother. This is going to be a tough road for her. I am attaching some pictures I ran across today. I really didn't have time to dig for more recent pictures, but at least you can see some of the good times!!

My grandmother (Ginny as we call her) & Bobby with the boys a couple of days after they were born.

What a wonderful tribute to a GREAT "second" father. He is God's hands and running around on his John Deere!!

I love you!
