B'ham Jan 28, 2009 for Food Challenge:
We went up the night before & spent the night. We couldn't eat after midnight, so he went 16 hours with NO food then had to eat a food he had NEVER had before. By the way, the boy ate 3 eggs by himself!!! Then, they let us rest for an hour before starting milk. At this point, Caleb was fading fast. I think, but what do I know, his blood sugar was dropping. SO, we went back to do milk & he started complaining about his stomach hurting. Upon which I told the DR he needed to use the bathroom(we know are children better than anyone else, right?). She let us go eat lunch & come back in an hour. Talk about a different child, from laying his head on the table to jumping up & down. It is amazing what food can do for you!!! We go back at 1pm...CALEB COMPLETELY REFUSED. We tried every trick in the book, & we even asked him to try cheese. NOPE!! The child was tired!!! She told us that sometimes that is the body's defense mechanism to refuse...I am beginning to think she is right. So, Marc & I are disappointed not to find out the answer to both, but maybe for good reason. We check out & go to the car & the screaming begins!!! Caleb fell asleep for maybe 10 minutes & then screams the rest of the way home!! By the time we got home, my nerves were RAW!!!

The next day, Thursday, being the brave mom I am...I decided to make scramble eggs. Caleb ate a few, but refused the rest. By lunch he had whelps all over & they got worse as the day went on. Called the Dr & they told me to try something with egg baked in it, so I made some cupcakes. I gave him half of a mini cupcake & he starts CLAWING his tongue!! BACK TO SQUARE ONE!!
We go for milk challenge on February 23!!!
We went to ATL for the weekend Jan 30-31 to visit Aunt SaSa for her birthday!! We had a great time & really enjoyed spending time with her!! Happy Birthday SaSa!!! Sorry this is late, but better late than never!!

We have really been enjoying this pretty weather. I wish every day was sunny & beautiful!! I have a little spring fever right now!! Other than all the above, we are doing good!! Have I mentioned that raising twin 2 yr old boys is tough!! It will drive you to your KNEES!! Love them, but does it get better?

Ok, what is food challenge? It doesn't sound good...feeding Caleb eggs when he is allergic to them???
